SETTING SCSI ID ON LTO AUTOLOADERS :

To change the SCSI ID settings:
1 From the main menu, press the Previous or Next button until Configuration displays in the LCD.
2 Press Enter to select the Configuration menu.
3 Press the Previous or Next button until Change SCSI ID displays in the LCD
4 Press Enter to select the Change SCSI ID option.
5 Press the Previous or Next button until Loader displays in the LCD. To change the SCSI ID of the tape drive, press the Previous or Next button until Drive displays in the LCD.
6 Press Enter to select the Loader option.
7 Press the Previous or Next button until the desired SCSI ID displays.
8 Press the Enter button. Power Cycle for New SCSI ID displays on the LCD screen.
9 Turn off the autoloader. Wait a few seconds, and then turn the autoloader on again. The selected SCSI ID is now set.

Right-click QUANTUM GoVault---->Properties----->Note the indicated Location: value - Then close that window

Then - In the Device Manager window right click the IDE Channel listing under which QUANTUM GoVault is shown ---->Advanced Settings tab -----> To change the transfer mode, select DMA if available from the Transfer Mode list box

1. Go to My Computer select Tools->Folder Options… In the Folder Options page select the View tab. Scroll to the bottom of the Advanced settings area and see if Use simple file sharing (recommended) is checked or not. If it is checked: uncheck, reboot and try to explore again.

2. Select Tools->Internet Options. On the Security Tab select “Local intranet” from “Select a zone to view or change security settings.” Click the Sites button and verify that Automatically detect intranet network is checked. Then click the “Advanced” button. Type http://localhost in the “Add this website to the zone: text box” and click “Add”. Click “Close” on the Local intranet property page opened from clicking the Advanced button. Click OK on the Local intranet property page opened from clicking the Sites button. Finally, click OK on the Internet Options property page. Then try to explore again.

Broadband in telecommunications is a term that refers to a signaling method that includes or handles a relatively wide range of frequencies, which may be divided into channels or frequency bins. Broadband is always a relative term, understood according to its context. The wider the bandwidth, greater is the information carrying capacity. In radio, for example, a very narrow-band signal will carry Morse code; a broader band will carry speech; a still broader band is required to carry music without losing the high audio frequencies required for realistic sound reproduction. A television antenna described as "normal" may be capable of receiving a certain range of channels; one described as "broadband" will receive more channels. In data communications a modem will transmit a bandwidth of 64 kilobits per seconds (kbit/s) over a telephone line; over the same telephone line a bandwidth of several megabits per second can be handled by ADSL, which is described as broadband (relative to a modem over a telephone line, although much less than can be achieved over a fibre optic circuit.

Ethernet, however, is the common interface to broadband modems such as DSL data links, and has a high data rate itself, so is sometimes referred to as broadband. Resolution :

This error is displayed on the LCD panel of the 240 autoloaders.
The error usually indicates that the autoloader is failing to eject the
magazine.
- SEE IS THERE IS ANY TAPE STUCK IN THE DRIVE
- Power down the system.
- Disconnect the data cable and termination block if external unit.
- Apply power to system/drive. (You can pause the system boot at BIOS
or memory count,
this saves time and there is no need to boot into the OS.)
- Hold in the eject button for 15 seconds as system is powering up.
If the drive ejects the magazine clean the drive 4 times.
- Insert a the magazine into the drive and see if it will eject
normally.
- If the drive fails to eject at this point the drive will need to be
repaired or replaced.

Note: There is no manual extraction procedure for the 240 autoloaders!

Sometimes the device (the drive) is disabled

- Check drivers for Controller - Latest Drivers
- Check drivers for the tape drive
- Run XTALK
- If available Upgrade Firmware

- Check SCSI Bios -
- Check WIde Negotiation - (Yes - 16 BIT) (NO - 8 Bit)
- Reduced Transfer Rate
- Check the compression .. compatibility with drive..
- Check jumper settings for SCSI, raid controller and compatibility
- Change tape / clean drive
- SCSI Bios - Max Transfer Rate (Should be Same as that of drive)
- SYNC WIDE NEGOTIATION (Should be disabled for 8 bit drive)
- Make sure no SE Drive Installed
- Check DIP Switch on the drive and make sure its ON...

NOTE: If the model no. of the contrller (W- Wide i.e. 16 Bit,
(and WIDE NEGOTIATION is set to "YES") and if the drive is
of 8 bit then we need to disable the WIDE NEGOTIATION - "NO"
to match the speed of drive with controller - (8 bit - 8 bit)...

Device not showing in SCSI BIOS/Device Manager/Intermittent Connections

- Check terminators type and connections
- check the bent pins / jumper settings for SCSI
- Change SCSI Cable
- Check for RAID Controller and adapter compatibility
- Check transfer rate of the controller in SCSI BIOS

- Check the device on the other server
- Change SCSI Controller Slot.
